An Actress, Writer, and Director

This is me
Jessica Lavoie is a NYC based actor and creative, a recent Fall '25 Grad of NYU Tisch Drama. She has trained at the Strasberg Institute of Theatre and Film, the Experimental Theatre Wing at Tisch, and Stonestreet Screen Acting Studios. Recently she starred in Stonestreet short “Charlotte’s Turn” directed by Clara Spannaus which was featured in 2025's Big Apple Film Festival, and NYU Grad film “Olive Juice” by Mary Charles Ramsey.
Theater credits include Strasberg’s Fall 2025 production of "Dead to Us", an original play commissioned by the Clifford Odets Ensemble Play grant for a select cast of Strasberg Practicum students- this was her Capstone. She unleashed her 'clown' as a Shakespearean Player in the Spring '25 Strasberg production of “Rozencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead”. And she combined poetry, acapella soundscape, and lighting design in her devised Tisch ETW second year project “Old Friend”. She also loves painting, experimental movement, anthropology, and of course her dog, Bailey.
I'm looking for my next opportunity to tell a meaningful story.

My values
I strive to create stories that highlight the beautiful and complicated reality of humanity.

I love acting because it gives me the unique chance to look at the world through new eyes. It fulfills me to become someone new, to find empathy for a life unlike my own, to realize you have a never-ending list of questions and to be exhilarated by the journey towards understanding. I create stories to remind the audience that our uniqueness deserves to be honored, and to constantly remind myself that being alive means discovering yourself every day.
I greatly value my acting and movement training at NYU, which has led me to discover my passion for the Growtowski technique and the Method. I emphasize movement in my process.

I am especially drawn to projects that feature characters who are on the journey to finding themselves, overcoming adversity, stories about girlhood, coming of age, and strong, emotional characters.

From "Olive Juice", directed by Mary Charles Ramsey, a story about a young woman trying to reconnect with her grandmother suffering from Dementia.

From "Dead to Us", an original play produced by Strasberg Film/TV Institute, directed by Stephanie Rolland. I play Liz, an insecure girl who learns to stand up for what's right instead of staying silent.

From "Charlotte's Turn", directed by Clara Spannaus, an eerie round-table of insecure mean girls who get what they deserve in the end.
